Andean Corridor and Macrofacs
TIO is of course involved with many big and small engineering projects to a greater or lesser extent. The biggest is the inner sea project in Austrailia that hopes to bring life back to the dustbowl that was inland Queensland. But the project they hope will give them the edge over their local rivals is a combined infrastructure corridor running down the west coast of the south american continent between the Pacific and the Andes from the Panama canal to Cape Horn.
TIO already owns either the rights to build or the land itself along much of this length due to their existing ownership and purchase of several local Telecommunications, pipeline and railway/maglev companies. There are ongoing issues with small groups that are resisting the purchase of their land. Some governments are also dragging their feet when it comes to passing nessicary legislation. Needless to say TIO is willing to apply a considerable amount of pressure to get what they want.
The payoff will happen when the Antarctic begins development and TIO has more control over the movement of data, people and resources to and from Central, North and South America as well as within South America. While other infrastructure exists TIO expects to have the only unified and modern network. To help this happen TIO has "invested" in the "Colonise" political movement.
Recently TIO has begun a far more secret engineering project to support the Andean Corridor. Several huge Fussion(?) Powered submersibles have been purchased from Morgan Oceanic and are being refitted as "Macrofacs" These are largely automated factory and infrastructure support ships that will allow TIO to establish ports, infrastructure, processing plants and all the other requirements of a profitable city on a new continent. The Macrofacs are designed to do this, Fast.
