Physiology(appropriate Specialty) to understand what he wants to do, Mathematic (Statistics) to design his conformation studies properly, possibly Research and just maybe Detect Lies to sort out claims involving old "nootropic" drugs.

Take the Detect Lies as humor if you like but I'm serious about the Statistics. There is no field of Mathematics which allegedly trained professionals screw up as often as Statistics. So it's possible he might not have it but I suspect he needs it.
