I game largely through online methods, and I don't drink. I've had one or two players who drunk during the game, but they did so in moderation and it didn't really effect the game. They were never excellent players, but I think that was just happen stance.

I would never game face to face with someone drinking, but that's possibly because I find the smell of alcohol detestable.
