It sounds like you disagree with Kromm on this one. That's fine - I was just offering the OP the history of the discussion of that confusing wording and the intent of the author.
If you want to argue that the intent of the author has somehow changed when the books got a 4e stamped on them, go ahead, although I think it unlikely.
