Hadn't noticed that before (usually there isn't enough weight allowance left for it to make a difference), but I'll probably ignore it anyway as I can't see any logical reason why a light bike can't have a sidecar (and every extra exception is an extra rule to have to remember).
It probably wouldn't be weight efficient anyway with the extra tire etc. Your mate'll have to walk ;)
