The $9.95 in incorrect. I suspect (and cannot prove it without a lot of research) that there can a time when Warehouse 23 cleared the inventory and priced the remainders at that price. Probably in late 2004 or early 2005 would be my guess.
Digging deeper:
The book was $17.95 when it was first released.
Using an inflation calculator, we find that is the equivalent of roughly $29.08 in today's dollars. The relative cost of the book has actually dropped in the last 20+ years.
