Default Re: props and other aides

Have used a lot of background documents and artwork for most games.

In L5R we used samurai armies for wargaming to play out the battles with simplified rules to make it go reasonably fast.

In exalted we used a homebrew version of a card game to do the same.

Both nice abstract but still intersting ways to handle something I've never found fun in any RPG I've tried and that frequently come up in my campaigns.

Currently using models and a battlemap for my dark sun kinda off mix of 2nd and 3rd ed D&D. Most monsters however get to be funny dice and such stuff. Thinking of going to cardboard counters to be more visual especially in encounters where there aren't a dozen similiar monsters.

I'm kind of mixed on if using a battlemap is a good idea it does make a lot of sense for a system where a single hex of placement can be crucial but there are a lot of drawbacks as well in making fights dramatic and not white room fights.
