I have no quibble with the authors choice of TL6 for the tanks. The Pz.IV was a clearly pre-1940 vehicle (the first versions were in production in
1936, by the way), and the M4 was an incremental improvement on the M3, which was the same on the M2, to the point that the engine and transmission layout was identical, to the M4's detriment.
However, many vehicles used in WWII had quite sort design and development periods, the P-51 Mustang being one of them.
