Frankly I had never though of doing this and would be a great way to keep from donating them to other players. I had always though those cards HAD to be kept in hand.

My question is just double checking that you are allowed to keep them on the table so they aren't clogging up hand space.

And can I do the same thing for cards like "your shoes untied" that isn't an Item?

What about monster enhancers?

Sorry if its too many questions in one group, just trying to get the hang of it here. Thanks for running a great forums, and having such a fun game.
Any Items (any card that has a printed Gold Piece Value, including "No Value") can be played to the table whether you are using them at that moment or not. The only limit on this is that you may only have one Big item in play at a time (unless another card, like the Dwarf race, allows it). Items that you cannot use (like surplus Armors/Headgear/Footgear/Hand Items, or things that have use restrictions that you do not meet), or even simply choose not use (for whatever reason), are turned sideways to indicate that you are not receiving any bonuses/benefits from them.

So One-shot Items can be played to the table even if you aren't going to utilize their text right away (they don't even have to be played sideways, since they are still available for use). You can use their one-shot ability whenever applicable whether they are in your hand or on the table in front of you, then they are discarded.

If a one-shot card is NOT an Item, though, you must play it from your hand. This is also true of Monster Enhancers.
