Right. The word "belly" was not a good one. It sounds to mean that a vital organ is damaged which would do much more damage in GURPS terms... But it still what does an average knife stab in what GURPS name "torso".
Note that it is
before blood loss due to bleeding. Indeed, if the GM uses the bleeding rules, the wound can make the character lose more Hit Points... Especially with bullet wounds (the penalty to the HT is high).
