Thanks. A friend of mine when looking at the faq had interpreted it as (for instance) if monster A has a weakness to fire (-4) and monster B doesnt, it inherits monster A's -4 for a total of -8.

On the contrary, I had interpreted the rule as a general statement of 2 monsters levels are considered one attack power so the -4 is applied to the overall combat and is NOT a reason to treat the monsters separately (pretty much just a reinforcement of combat with monsters like players is a totaling of strengths into 1 v 1 no matter how many cards/players).
