I agree about
Last Hero. Not necessarily about Rincewind (yes he's more developed, but I'd still rather read a Diskworld book without him than with him. Luckily most of his later stories also feature Cohen, so that sort of mitigates things. Sort of).

Mostly it was the 'diversity' anvils he was pitching about the field that I found excessive. Not so much the 'horror of war'.
