Seriously, heavier weapons make it harder to climb around and sneak up on people - which is what our Ninja prefers to do. Also, a LAW is harder to hide in your clothes than a wakizashi, I guess.
Choking, Garroting and brain-stabbing seem the ideal way to go.

Why stab? For the brain swing dammage it better. And people will find someone with a hammer stands out alot less than the guy in pajama's with the sword.
So we are basicly getting into the smatchet catagories of ways to take out sentries.
