Default Re: [Spaceships] Statting a STL Interstellar Probe

Going over the exploration rolls in SS5, I'm thinking of adding a smaller-scale Science Array; and I'm thinking of getting the mass by taking away a third of a system of armor.

The trouble is, the armor rules in Pyramid 3/34 are only defined for full-size systems of armor.

I tried taking the numbers from 3/34's table, and running them through a best-fit analysis program, which chose 'quintic regression' and gave the numbers:

> Smoothed with quintic regression
20: 5.305
19: 4.342
18: 3.594
17: 3.021
16: 2.589
15: 2.267
14: 2.028
13.7: 1.969
13.5: 1.933
13.3: 1.899
13: 1.851
12: 1.717
1: 0.977

The overall equation the analyser spat out is:
y = 1.013272 - 0.05964327*x + 0.02570164*x^2 - 0.001971084*x^3 + 0.00003268314*x^4 + 0.000001794768*x^5

... So, if I go from a baseline of 14 armor systems and 3/34's default 2* multiplier, and go to 13.7 armor systems with a 1.969* multiplier, is anyone going to raise an eyebrow? Does anyone have a, shall we say, saner approach? :)
