Since firearm recoil is kind of like the firearm trying to push you over, wouldn't you treat it like a person trying to push you over?

"Lifting ST also adds to ST in situations where you can apply slow, steady pressure (grappling, choking..." (Characters, p65)

Recoil isn't exactly slow or steady, but it seems more grapply than strikey. Maybe this is a special case where the ST concentrations don't apply.
