G'annan of Frolec Question VIII

Is this acceptable for G'annan's cultural weapon? If not, what changes would you suggest?

Desert Elf Bardiche

(as a melee weapon)

Polearm
TL: ^; Damage: sw+2 cut; Reach: 1, 2*; Parry: 0U; Cost: $800; Weight: 7; ST: 9†
TL: ^; Damage: thr+3 imp; Reach: "; Parry: 0; Cost: "; Weight: "; ST: "

(as a short-ranged weapon)

Polearm Art or Mental Strength
TL: ^; Damage: 2d+2 cut dkb; Acc: 2; 1/2D: 10; Max: 30; RoF: 1; Shots: 200; ST: 6†; Bulk: -5; Rcl: 1; LC: 2

Notes
When swung edge-on at a target outside of melee, this weapon creates a curved blade of wind which grows longer as it travels toward the target (starting at 1 yard long), but dissipates when it reaches Max range (being 10 yards in a straight line from tip to tip at that point, and a bit longer along the edge). In areas with sand or other loose, dry particulates, such as iron filings, the wind will pick them up, and gain an armor divisor of (2), but the wind-blade will be visible.

Sweeping it across with the flat of the blade to the air allows the user to create a wall of wind no more than 10 yards from the blade, shaped according to the user's will. The wall will last 1d+3 seconds if not canceled, and will have DR12 if no sand is available to be picked up, or DR15 in sandy locations (though this also impedes visibility by -5). Moving the wall after it is formed (including using it to push opponents) is a Hard skill-4 technique; when used this way, the wall has a Move equal to the user's Will/2. Groups of bardiche-wielders working together can overlap or layer their walls for greater durability, but cannot increase the duration, nor give a moving wall speed greater than that produced by the weakest Will in the group.

Skilled practitioners like G'annan have been known to create a range of other effects, such as whirlwinds, updrafts or downdrafts, explosions, brief sandstorms, and so on.

(as a long-ranged weapon)

Beam Weapon (Staff)
TL: ^; Damage: 3d-1 pi+ ex; Acc: 4; 1/2D: 100; Max: 500; RoF: 1; Shots: 100; ST: 6†; Bulk: -5; Rcl: 1

Notes

If the user Concentrates, they may shoot a fast (roughly bullet speeds) dart of compressed air at a distant target, which tends to explode after hitting (usually inside the body, if not stopped by armour). The dart is formed within the decorative-looking endcap where the blade is affixed to the staff. This use requires more power than the other uses, hence the reduced number of Shots.

Like the staff weapon, the wind-bardiche can be powered or recharged by a Will or Mental Strength roll and the user's own FP (costing 1FP per die of damage or additional modifier), or by bringing it to a ley line or nexus, such as the one the SGC uses.

G'annan's personal weapon is customized, having a cost of $1,200, a swing Parry of 0 rather than 0U, and an Acc of 6 when used as a longarm, the latter due to a small blade opposite the axe, and a 'decoration' partway down the shaft that is actually a Canadian-built rear iron sight. It also has various small changes that give him the Weapon Bond perk with it.

*******

Answer: Approved after feedback and modifications.
