True enough. Mind you, I'm not sure Gildor was actually claiming
descent from Finrod (or Finarfin) at all - "of the House of Finrod" could simply mean that Gildor's familiy was one of those who had sworn loyalty to Finarfin, rather than one of the other sons of Finwe.
