One square foot of cloth weighs approximately 1 ounce, which requires 14,000 spiders.

Each spider produces around 80 feet of silk so the total length of silk required for one square foot of cloth is 1.12 million feet.

The article mentions that a gizmo was invented to process 24 spiders at once but it doesn't say what happens afterwards. I'm guessing that the gizmo draws silk from the spiders and spins those 24 silk fibres into one thread ready for weaving.
