When I was playing earlier today with some friends, I noticed that connecting the passageways and tiles so that cuts are // and not /\ helps them from fraying but not by much.
I bought the Portals expansion at the same time I did MQ but didn't play with it until today. A side-by-side comparison of the portals and passageways shows that the portals are larger.
We were able to play with the portals but it took a little force to get them work.
