Now that you mention it, yes.
As a compromise between faux-democratic ideals and faux-confucian the old ancestors are recorded in a side note to make sure no face is lost when a new lineage is joined. As a bonus the inferior lineage that has a royal marriage or adoption has that recorded in it's geneology to promote it's prestige.
