I've been poking around the Wayback Machine...and it looks like they never officially published the 2017 6th Edition rulebook as a PDF. It goes straight from the Designer's Edition PDF (up through the April 11th 2018 scrape) to the Battle Box PDF (on the October 20th 2018 scrape).
There may have been a 'hey forum community, put fresh eyes on this' version up temporarily, but SJG is pretty good about taking those down after they've served their purpose, in order to avoid rules confusion.
