Default Re: Would Pdfs of the various Cultures of Transhuman Space.

Of course, but I would want a more realistic portrayal of the challenges that arise from living as stateless individuals. Without the protections of anything more than basic humanitarian laws, they would have no legal recourse against corporations who stole their copyrights or patents. Without citizen/resident registration within any state, they would not technically have any legal identity, which would mean that they could not be a legal recipient of money transfers or other forms of payments.

Of course, a small nation like Singapore could offer such stateless individuals legitimacy in exchange for financial considerations. Perhaps the Duncanites decided that a small state was less dangerous than a large state and all of them are officially residents of Singapore. Duncanite copyrights and patents would then be registered through the nation of Singapore and Duncanite corporations would then legally registered under Singapore laws. It would make for an interesting connection between the two cultures.
