Default Medicine Show vs. Medicine Show?

Need a ruling:

Player A - Kicks The Door and find a monster. (player is losing)
Player B - Joins the battle to help A (winning)
Player C - Plays Wandering Monster (now losing)
Player B - Plays Medicine Show to cancel the Wandering Monster.
Player D - Plays Medicine Show to cancel the Medicine Show played by Player B.

Argument ensues. Player B argues that as soon as they play Medicine Show the Wandering Monster is cancelled **immediately**, so Player D can't cancel the first Medicine Show, and D's play is ineffective.

Player B quotes World Of Munchkin FAQ:

Q. When do we resolve cards? As they are played, or once everyone says they're done playing them?
A. As they are played. Some games have a "stack" mechanic, where all cards are resolved at once. Munchkin is not one of them.

This interpretation - while convenient for Player B in this case - seems at odds with both the spirit of stabbing your friend in the back, and the "reasonable time" statement of the rules.

In other words, I'd expect you can cancel Medicine Show with the second Medicine Show (my deck came with two*).

Since Player B is pointing to the official FAQ, I'd appreciate an official ruling to clear this up.

Thanks!

* Side note: My deck came with 2 Medicine Show cards (and two Lost My Woman also), while the card list here: http://www.worldofmunchkin.com/goodb...kin/cards.html, does not show a count of 2 for these cards, and my door deck has 106 cards, not 98 as shown on the card list.... So I'm wondering if the rules/card list are out of date. (My set is new and the rules are marked version 1.7/ Oct 2015).
