Hmmm, good point. OK, let me rephrase that last paragraph. A demon who can cause friend and foe to be confused on the battlefield is at more than the usual risk of being toasted himself. If you're Baal, wouldn't you want to make sure the music stuck around, even if the Band no longer played on?

Good question. Maybe roll as though for a resonance, with the check digit determining how many rounds after the demon's death the Fog of War lasts? A Divine Intervention, of course, would lift the fog right away, while an Infernal Intervention would extend the duration to minutes instead of rounds.
And yes, I would say that solid evidence of who you're fighting (or simply breaking off contact completely) would also be enough to lift the Fog.
