I'm pretty sure GCA detects {PATH} then hard codes it so Microsoft changing the name of the folder doesn't affect it. Plus Windows 10 maintained the folder names used since Vista. I'm pretty sure there's a script in the GCA4 folder that resets all of the settings that would have fixed it.
The real problem is Visual Basic 6 is well past end-of-life and Microsoft is at the point of simply not caring if a Windows update breaks a VB6 program. Armin is working on GCA5 using VB.NET, but it's basically being done in his spare time and he won't see a penny until it's released and even then only royalties.
