I nearly started a French Resistance game in 3e, but I think it fizzled from lack of interest.

I think that mainstream fiction is probably a genre that
GURPS is actually very poorly suited for. I think the detail is in all the wrong places, and you'd probably want something much more based in improvisational theater, or maybe something like
Fiasco.
