So far, the group hasn't been anywhere in the Orbital Realm of Jupiter where anything even close to a free press could appear. The "compagnies" rule with only the smallest, most sheer velvet gloves over iron fists, and no information gets published in their domains unless it comes from a company p.r. press.
The group has had a couple of opportunities to slip into the "underground" and get alternate information and perspectives, but have deliberately declined.
To their way of thinking (especially for A.J.) the Red Rocks Lodge has a goal they consider far important, and won't risk antagonizing the local powers that be, in such a way as to put the mission at risk.
Should they make it to the 1711 (soon 1712) world, published broadsheets with local news may become available, once again. :)
At some point, they know they may need to take on the "compagnies," if they want freedom of access to the Orbital Realm of Jupiter. But, for now, the Nieuw Amsterdam and Nieuw Haarlem companies hold much stronger hands.
