I made a modern high fantasy setting a bit ago that is:
Present day
Reality Quake (actually more than a quake-- everyone knows about magic. You can find spellbooks online, etc.)
Magic is present nearly everywhere, though there are things like no-mana zones.
Magic is available as Book magic, Realms with Thresholds, alchemy, and personal magical knacks.
There are lots of monsters and magical races.
