The former idea is one most smart duellists have used for years -- one of my
Div. 30 designs (which, BTW, has never been defeated... :) ) has nearly a
dozen different variants to it, which are sufficiently similar that if a player is
not paying attention during the exterior description, he's likely to miss the
fine points....

The latter is also an old idea -- in fact, it's one of the factors which killed
_CW_; have you ever looked through the rules and tried to find a way to
*destroy* dropped weapons? Doesn't exist.

Oddly, I've never seen Ramcars used to any great effect in any of the games
I've played. Granted, my preferred DW combo is one SD each B and either L
or R -- it creates a line of spikes (usually explosive or incendiary) which is
all-but-guaranteed to detonate, and is very useful at sealing off chokepoints
and other areas, which does a number on a Rammer's ability to use speed
and maneuver.
