After resting a while, the party travels west down the corridor and over to a door.
It's closed but not locked. Even from outside, the smell of aromatic smoke is heavy. Opening the door a crack and peeking inside reveals the room beyond is some kind of repurposed rectangular area - whatever it was before, the new residents have cleared it out and hung ten dead hobgoblins on wicked-looking metal hooks (the hooks have been driven into the wall with great force) piercing through their chests. The smoke is coming from a covered pot of chemicals in one corner.
The room looks otherwise barren. The floor is greatly scuffed by people moving big objects (like, say, furniture) out.
