Thanks Andrew. Are you saying the card that would open the seventh Seal also trumps Annihilation, though? Say, for example, somebody played a Disaster that would open the final Seal and I play Annihilation immediately to cancel any card that was just played as a reaction (due to Annihilation having that special effect of cancelling the play of a card). It seems that would be similar to the die roll situation as the seal only opens if the card is not annihilated.
