Let's consider the other things: - unpaid servants quitting: this only occurs if you are trying to live at a level exceeding what you're paying for. - malnutrition: mostly only a problem for status -2. Could be an issue for status -1. Should be true regardless of why you're living at that low status level -- someone with status 0 paying for status -2 is not going to be more malnourished than someone status -2 paying for status -2.
