If the first attempt fails, and you want to burn more cards, you may try to Enthrall another player. You may not try to Enthrall the same player twice.
Before we get into a huge argument, I'm aware that the Bard power is not explicit about what I said above. This is an official clarification that will appear in the forthcoming FAQ, not just my interpretation of the card.
