And to talk about the system - I love it because it has infinite possibilities that can be codified and utilized in a structured manner. It provides scads of ideas for character creation.

Ultimately after spending hours and hours on a character I will realize that NOW I have a CHARACTER concept I can use in any game system. I am distressed how frequently I let myself get stuck into "oh - I've made a grups character, now I have to play GURPS." GURPS is beyond that. Even though it has rules for doing things with your character, I think it is ultimately the greatest tool for setting out WHO your character is rather then WHAT your character can do... Just my take though.

I like the idea of starting with gurps to come up with a character and then just putting your character into a simpler system for play (such as TWERPS!). Get some details of your character through GURPS and then use a simpler mechanic. Or heck, make a D&D character and then just add on GURPS disadvantages. :)
