I've thought about that, but I have an iPad at the gaming table, not a laptop.

I do have a way to approximate the results of ten rolls in one now. I haven't crunched the math for hunting, but its mean is near the mean for ten foraging rolls.

1) Figure effective skill, including situational modifiers for terrain and weather.
2) Make a skill roll. If you critically fail, stop now; you found no food.
3) If you didn't critically fail, note the margin of success. A non-critical failure will have a negative margin of success.
4) Add the margin of success to effective skill.
5) Divide the above by two and round normally (that will be up since you're only dealing with halves). This is how many meals you found.

This should vary more than ten rolls would, but I didn't bother to check. Your chance of getting nothing is a higher at high skill, but the most off the mean of this is as opposed the mean of ten rolls is 2/3rds a meal short at skill 12.

To handle less time spent foraging, change the divisor in step 5, which would be hours divided into 20. Thus, for 5 hours of foraging, divide by 4.

Edit: Alright, I did hunting. In short, don't divide by 2 in step 5, and you have it.
