Here is the key thing that will help resolve all these conflicts. "For your next combat, YOU are now a Standie and count as Level 1." It does not say you ARE Level 1 for all purposes, just that you count as Level 1 -- which means your actual Level doesn't change.

No. Once you decide to Run Away, you are no longer a Standie and your full Level asserts itself.

Yes. During combat, you count as Level 1, and that includes monster or character bonuses or penalties. (But your real Level is still there; an Orc could sacrifice a level to cancel a Curse, for instance.)
