SJ Games is hard at work on new
GURPS releases.
By dint of being licensed, the
Discworld Roleplaying Game is our top priority for
GURPS. The project is with the licensor for approval while our art department finishes inking the art. Those steps introduce enough variables that I cannot venture a release date. The license for the product
does not provide for PDF release, however, so this matter is of indirect relevance to
e23 – though it cannot be ignored, for reasons that will become apparent if you keep reading.
The next priority is
GURPS Zombies, which enjoys privileged status by virtue of being a large hardback, not because
I wrote it. It's finished but for its cover. Its fate and that of the
Discworld Roleplaying Game are inextricably linked:
Zombies will go to print first if there are any holdups with
Discworld, second if there are none. Thus, I cannot estimate a release date for it, either. I can confirm that
e23 will sell a PDF version . . . which might be uploaded before printing plans are finalized.
Might.
After those items come all the
e23 originals we've been talking about. We hope to resume bringing you one or two new
GURPS PDFs a month – as in the Time Before
Ogre – starting in August or September 2013. My best guess is that we'll kick that off with
GURPS Martial Arts: Technical Grappling and
GURPS Thaumatology: Ritual Path Magic. I could be wrong!
Indeed, I could be wrong about
all of this. Remember that I work on the
early end of the process: accepting queries and proposals, approving outlines, answering writers' questions, writing my own content, editing, and reviewing rough PDFs. Every supplement mentioned by name above is in the
late end of the process: final layout, art, prepress check, and in some cases licensor approval, printing, and shipping. I neither work on those steps nor plan the
GURPS release schedule.
