Alright once everyone is gathered together in one of the rooms I tell Nicky I'm going to work a bit of magic, its helpful if you ever get into a fight, and might bring a bit of good luck besides. You can stay if you want, but if you are skittish about magic you can wait outside.
First thing first, extend the existing buff

Skill 16 Roll 9
Now to refill the reserve skill 16: Rolls 9, 15, 11. Energy reserve is at full (15 now!)
As a note you might want to require AoE to extend AoE spells. Regardless it doesn't change anything since I can still take 12 from the energy reserve and I got 13 total energy on the refill.

I gather 57 energy and then get a critical failure.
Soo... I have luck for exactly this reason: Reroll the 18! Rolls 3 (I only rerolled once, but it doesn't matter.)
That roll gets me 12 energy bumping me up to 69. 9 more from the energy reserve, and we move on to casting. Skill 18 Roll 13
Refilling the energy reserve: Skill 16 Roll 10, 12
Finally the survivors prayer. Lets hope for no more 18's.
