Default Re: Let's discuss: Monsters and Player with Dead Character

I'll just correct all the mistaken assumptions without trying to multi-quote:
  • When you fail to Run Away from a Monster, you automatically suffer its Bad Stuff. You don't roll for every Monster and then suffer all the Bad Stuff at the end.
  • When you die, you lay down your hand along with your other lootable stuff. Therefore, you do not discard your hand, you add it to the cards that can be looted. Any cards left over after looting gets discarded (except, of course, the dead player's Race, Class, persistent Curses, and cards which say they don't get looted.
  • While a player is in combat or Running Away, you can not steal from him. If you need a reason other than Steve, Andrew and I say so, you are welcome to assume that the combatant player is moving around too much for a Thief to be able to steal from him, or perhaps the Thief has enough self-preservation sense to not wade into a combat scenario with the intent to leave himself so exposed.
  • The period of time that a player is dead is very brief. You can wait that very short period of time to Curse him or steal from him once he's alive again, especially since those actions don't have to be done during any specific time.
