He's right. There is no limit to the number of Extra Style cards you may play. In fact, a Monk with all 4 Extra Style cards from the core set and Monky Business could have 6 Styles. I think you'll find that the rules and the Extra Style cards do not make the same distinctions that the other games do concerning Half Breed or Super Munchkin, so you're making an invalid assumption.
