Re: False god idea

One other point about the false god and his cult. The false god is not like the typical demon lord that terrorizes the land, instead his cult just gains new followers and grows peacefully. The...

[DF] Disadvantages for clerics

What would be the disadvantages that a cleric would have if they were against idols, other gods than their own, saying the names of other gods? What would be the disadvantage cost if the cleric could...

Re: False god idea

Thanks. I was sort of thinking that the false god was a demon lord whose s brick was the ability to grant neutral powers by mana to his clerics to mimic holy clerical powers. When the time comes he...

Re: False god idea

The false god dupes good people into worshipping him. He is not a god but a demon who bestows powers. The Divine has banished him to Hell so he is not of the same power as the Divine thus a false god.

Re: False god idea

The way I envision it to be different is that the false god pretends to be something that he is not. He grants mana to cast spells that would normally work with Sanctity in order to disguise his true...

Re: False god idea

False god adventure idea:

There is a demonic temple that is growing in power and acquiring evil races like orcs, trolls, ogres, goblins, hobgoblins and giants along with evil men. Luckily a...

False god idea

I was thinking about a temple idea for PCs to face that would be different than the typical demonic temple. The idea is that there is a false god (likely a demon but not overtly evil) who bestows...

The Jungle Book

I watched the Jungle Book movie and I was wondering what could be stolen and used in DF. What would you think Mowgli is? A Barabarian? Or some sort of acrobat? What about Baloo the bear? Just curious...

The Tower of Babel in a Dungeon Fantasy world

I was wondering how you would rule something like the Tower of Babel in a Dungeon Fantasy world. The tower would reach the heavens if it had been constructed so how might this work? If the world is...

Re: Divine Adversaries

Sounds cool. Having to defeat the Divine is in some ways creepier than defeating the Infernal.

Any dungeons filled with plagues of frogs and locusts? Having all the water in the Dungeon turned to...

Divine Adversaries

I have been read the Old Testament lately, especially the story of the plagues and the story of Lot. It seems that there is material there that could be used in a dungeon. Maybe the Dungeon is...

Re: Dungeon Fantasy World Setting

I would love to have Arabian Nights or Silk Road made into a Dungeon Fantasy setting but I know that would be *gasp* controversial. It might also be nice to have a fake Earth setting so that would...

Djinn and Irfits

Are there any djinn and ifrit that are available for the Dungeon Fantasy line? I would imagine they should be sort of like demons but they could choose t be good or evil and they would not be bound...

Re: Dungeon Fantasy races in a real world medieval town

The cosmology idea that I have is that there is the Divine and then there are good, evil and neutral supernatural beings. The good ones are angels and servants of the Divine and the evil are the...

Re: Dungeon Fantasy races in a real world medieval town

Re: Dungeon Fantasy races in a real world medieval town

As far as what city or place I guess anywhere in Europe would be good and it would be fine if they were treated differently in different places.

One thing I was thinking is that they might be...

Dungeon Fantasy races in a real world medieval town

I am curious about how a real world medieval town would react to the Dungeon Fantasy races coming into their town. Of course the reaction towards ogres, trolls, goblins and orcs would be terrible but...

Re: Divine Bard?

I was thinking that the Divine Bard may be a good way to represent the Buddhist monk. He could chant and have others meditate to heal them or to remove sickness or curses. Maybe his mere meditation...

Exotic mana idea

Normal mana might be thought of as residual energy of creation that is neither good nor evil but there may also be a continuum of different types of mana with some truly evil and other purely good...

I was thinking about a Sufi minstrel for my Dungeon Fantasy Silk Road setting and I was wondering if replacing the magical power with Divine power is too much for the Dungeon Fantasy setting. Ashique...

Re: GURPS Hot Spots: The Silk Road

I was always curious about how Buddhism was phased out in India, I guess without state support the Buddhist monestaries just went out of business. It is cool that it got adsorbed back into Hinduism...

Re: DF Implied Cosmology

The concept that I have is that the creation from nothing or chaos by the gods uses an energy. Mana is the residual energy of this creation that mortals can access. This is the energy of...
