Re: Ogre Miniatures 2?

It just struck me that with the Mk. VI now a very real possibility, I can finally do up a proper Coelacanth and the Junkyard Dog from Ogrezine. Oh yes.

Re: Ogre Miniatures 2?

The main thing with the Golem is that it's described as being roughly equivalent to a Mk. III, but mounts weapons more comparable to the Mk. IV (1 MB, 3 SB, 3 missile racks). So I'm going to base it...

Re: Ogre Miniatures 2?

Yeah, my Sekrit Projekt Huscarl is absolute madness. I am really chomping at the bit to get my hands on Set 2, because I also have crazy ideas on how to do an Israeli Golem. Oh, and the Nihon Oni....

Re: Warehouse 23 Sale, Ogre Miniatures Stretch Goals

This is precisely why I try not to predict how Kickstarter campaigns are going to end. I'll be placing another order on the 30th, too; I need to get some extra Nightfall sets for later artbashing. ;)

Re: OGRE Loot! Show Us Yours!

I think most of you have already seen this, so I'll keep this short and sweet:

I finished my Martian Metals Ogre Mk. V today. Here it is, next to how it looked when I got it.

Re: A VI for the fifth?

I did suggest that a few posts back, but went ahead and did the math based on the miniatures anyway. ;)

Re: A VI for the fifth?

No offense meant to the guy, but Richard (the sculptor) probably just goofed. These things happen. You should see how wildly the BattleTech line varies in scale from piece to piece, and they now use...

Re: A VI for the fifth?

The metal SJ Games Mk. III and V are within micrometers of the plastics. Aside from some surface details like the AP guns, they are nearly indistinguishable side by side.

Here's the thing: if we...

Re: A VI for the fifth?

Well, let's see. The Ogre Mk. V is supposed to be 25.5 meters long, according to Winchell. At 1/300 scale, that should be 85mm. Using the numbers I gave above and converting from 'Murica to Sanity,...

Re: This Bites

Yeah, but the feel of the old World of Darkness is long gone. It really was a product of its time, where everything is pure Munchkinism but you're supposed to be taking it seriously. Now you get...

Re: A VI for the fifth?

I checked the usual sources, and couldn't find any better info on the Mk. VI's dimensions. I think someone is just going to have to ask Winchell.

Re: A VI for the fifth?

I've got 3 5/8" long, 1 7/8" wide, and 1 15/16" tall (with tower) for the Mk. VI. The plastic Mk. V is 3 1/4" long, 1 13/16" wide, and 2 1/4" tall with tower.

Edit: You're asking about the...

Re: Ogre Miniatures 2?

I may be using a CAD program to plan mine out, then have the relevant part 3D printed. Or I might just get in there with tools and screw some stuff up.

Re: Ogre Miniatures 2?

To paraphrase a wise man, "pick up a tool and starting screwing up." No first effort is ever perfect, so keep practicing! My plan for a Huscarl is absolutely insane, so we'll see what happens. ;)

I cannot wait. I'm getting two from the Kickstarter and might just snag a couple more before they vanish.

Re: Self Destruct Optional Rule?

Yeah. Sometimes one-shot kills are funny, but too often they just scuttle the mood of the affected player. It's something we've been kicking about over on the BattleTech forums, since there's a...

I wasn't sure if you'd see this, so I went ahead and stole your thunder. I did keep checking your actual update to make sure I wasn't saying anything outright incorrect. :D

Re: Self Destruct Optional Rule?

One of the big problems I have with BattleTech - which I also love - is that there are too many mechanics that allow for instant kills of units. That lack of "critical hits" is one of the things I...

Re: Self Destruct Optional Rule?

That's all the major changes. I think the wording was also tightened up and clarified in a few places without actual rules changes. Right now I'd need to break out a stepladder to get down my...

Re: Ogre Miniatures 2?

Phil posted an update on Kickstarter. Basically, it looks like late June/early July for delivery to supporters. On Monday they are hoping to have an advance copy at the office, so they can do an...
