Re: Facepalm On-Demand

Regarding the missile question:

On the one hand, yeah, it depends on the scenario and the opponent. If my opponent brings a lot of GEVs, I will probably fire them at several early on, for example....

Re: Alternate storage solutions

I posted this a long time ago, in a thread far, far away...

Unfortunately, the link is old. Try this one....

Re: Alternative to Combat Results Table

I may just be an old grognard, but OGRE has about the simplest and easiest CRT of any wargame I have ever played. After playing more than a handful of games, you pretty much have it memorized. Even...

Re: 3D Printing and HO Scale Miniatures

No, you had it correct the first time. You said in an earlier post that you printed them via Shapeways.

Re: 3D Printing and HO Scale Miniatures

These look quite nice.
Do you use files that are on Shapeways, or do you create them yourself?

Re: Ogre: Objective 218 idea

Ah, forgive my bit of hyperbole. I get carried away with my own ideas.

Well, OO218 is a lot more portable than ODE, at least. It could be a little more portable, if not for the Crater...

Ogre: Objective 218 idea

I would love to see a playmat for Ogre: Objective 218

A nice, cloth-topped playmat with the crater and the two CPs printed on it would be perfect for playing the game. Other styling could be...

[Cthulhu Dice] Alternate Dodecahedrons?

I wonder if it has ever been considered to make a Cthulhu Die out of a Rhombic Dodecahedron (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhombic_dodecahedron)?

Is that something that the SJG staff rejected as...

Re: ODE alternative storage

Hey, KevinR, thanks for the suggestion.

I went looking for some 3701s today. I have a rolling case that I thought might hold a few of them, along with the maps. Unfortunately, I was wrong about...

Re: Illuminati: Megabucks

Of course, using something like the Monopoly credit card thing would be a HUGE advantage for the Gnomes.

Re: Concerning handling class...

How does driver skill affect this? +1 to Handling Status per how much you made the skill roll by? or would it apply to the crash roll? or both?

Interesting ideas.

Re: 1/35 Ogre: Paneuropean Jaeger Heavy Tank build

On the treads question, has anyone seen this kickstarter (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brickmania/brickmania-track-links-custom-add-on-for-the-lego?ref=users) for LEGO track links? I know they...

Re: Standardizing Armor Cost and Weight

The problem with this, as I see it, is the way that the game treats armor mechanically. At least standard (non-metal) armor.

Remember that nothing gets through until all the armor on a side is...

Re: Why the OGRE's APs are never taken out and how to fix that...

To me, the best way to make the APs a worthwhile target is to make them dangerous (or at least annoying) enough to an opponent to warrant them attacking AP rather than a more obviously dangerous...

Re: Quick way to play Illuminati?

A long while back, a few friends and I (who all worked together) used to play Illuminati during lunch. We would occupy a conference room for an hour or two each day to play. We did not, however, try...

Re: LF good 'travelling' car for professional duelist

I would guess that any areas that are trying to rebuild infrastructure (or maintain what they have) would frown on dropped weapons. The explosive kind tend to damage the road, and everything else...

Re: Ogre Kickstarter

Over a year ago, I posted my opinions about the plans for Ogre 6th Edition -- in short, I thought it was too big and expensive. You can read my post here...

Re: Do people want a tactical map computerized game aid?

A good place to start is the free Ogre Miniatures Lite (http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=SJG37-5001). I describes the terrain types and unit types that are most common in the game.

Re: Ogre noob strategy question

I am a little surprised by this strategy article. It is a decent overview, but I think that it fails to point out the importance of attacking Ogre treads. It does mention tread attacks, but mostly as...

Re: Things are looking up

But big, expensive boxes are not going to bring new players into the game.

I can predict how this will go: The grognards will buy-in quickly, maybe SJG will pay for its initial investment, and...

Re: iphone/Android apps and Carwars ( and I know this is wrong thinking )

This might work better as more than one app that can share data.

You would have a car construction/display app (of course, I would also vote for it to be able to use the camera to scan a barcode...

Cthulhu Dice: Hungry Cthulhu for multiple players

This past weekend, I played Cthulhu Dice with two five year olds and a nine year old, using the Hungry Cthulhu (http://www.wired.com/geekdad/2010/10/hungry-cthulhu/) rules mod. I used the rules...

How often did this happen in your games? My first thought is that this accelerates an already fast increase in the number of brains this player gets. Maybe have this decrease by one the number of...

Re: I enjoy Ogre but the turn order is weird

I think he is referring to overrun combat.

If Ogre were shoot than move, the Ogre would be at a disadvantage. Since the Ogre player has only one unit to move, it is more important for him to be...
