Re: Minis: Ogre Mk. III-B question

I'm with you on the F series. Gorgeous and a design triumph. Alco had clunky designs by comparison. In our local museum, we have the original FT demonstrator "A" unit, the "Diesel that did it".

Re: Minis: Ogre Mk. III-B question

That sort of reminds me of a railroad parallel.

In the 1950s diesel builders EMD and ALCo each went with an electrical plug system for connecting multiple units together within lash-ups. So you...

Re: Totes, yes totes

They made an oversize tote bag to carry the Ogre Designer's Edition. They appear to have sold pretty slowly after a while.

Re: Minis: Ogre Mk. III-B question

So the design progression is a stock Mk. III; 1MB, 4SB, 2 MSL.

Then they tacked on the new rear end, giving the Mk. III-A; 1MB, 4SB, and 4MSL.

Then the nose got beefed up, and we get the Mk....

Re: Other games OGRE boards could be used for?

Going the opposite direction, I've got the first 40-odd ASL maps, and the eight D-ASL maps ... haven't really used them yet though with Ogre.

Re: Minis: Ogre Mk. III-B question

Thank you both. Since my metal minis were bought used, I probably got the III-B from someone who mixed up the rear hulls, and I got a III instead of a III-B one.

Not a huge problem, really, as...

Minis: Ogre Mk. III-B question

So in going through my old SJG metal minis, I knew I had a kit of a Mk. III-B in the pile, and upon finding it, I realized it has a III-B front hull (two mains), and a III rear hull (two missiles). ...

Proxy miniatures for Ogre

I've got an extensive list of things made for use with Ogre over on BGG, if you haven't seen it, take a look.

Re: Just bought Battle Box, have a few questions

Right now the only way to snag a copy of the "orange" Ogre map is to buy Ogre 6E:

http://www.sjgames.com/ogre/products/ogre6e/

Or haunt eBay and see if you can turn up an extra copy of the map...

Re: Ogre Minis Construction

You would not believe how incredibly frustrating those things are to make and adjust properly when you are machining the tooling. They never fit the right way you want them to.

Re: Ogre Minis Construction

Tamiya Liquid Cement should work fine, it's a quality product.

I only use the MEK as it was the go-to solvent used at work for decades, it bonds nearly any plastic, and doubles as a paint stripper...

Re: Ogre Minis Construction

I just use some good old "healthy" MEK, and any imperfections get melted off when you squish the Ogre body down on its tread units (using a flat surface, as well).

Re: Playmats questions...

I know Phil has said it would be expensive, but I'd still really like the standard orange crater map as a playmat. Beyond that, I have no real ideas, I've always enjoyed maps, but have been bad at...

So I'll be "that guy". When can we start asking for M4? (ducking as shoes are thrown my direction).

Re: Ogrezine 2 Now on Kickstarter!

The hex size of the playmats is as close as feasible, but being printed in a different cloth based medium, they won't geomorph with the ODE/6E map boards. They're well worth having, M1 is a real...

Re: 6Th Edition Ogre & Miniatures

Other than this shows an older metal Mk. IIIB Ogre, it's SJG minis on a 6E or ODE map:

Re: 6Th Edition Ogre & Miniatures

Yes, except the various Ogres take up two hexes just like the 3D ones in ODE and 6E.

The Archangel artwork on the counter is not quite twice as long as a stock GEV counter artwork, and about twice...

GEV-MCP questions?

So next up on my list of "to do's" is a mini (or two) for the "Archangel" class GEV-MCP as featured in the S&TO counter set from Tiffin Games.

My question for the peanut gallery is this:

How...

Re: Trees for Ogre Miniatures

The same process of making the "green glop" for trees can be used to make spreadable ground cover on say, hexes or groups of hexes, as terrain. You'd have in essence a 3D version of the forest hexes...
