Re: blocking heavy attack (slam??) in DF

There is a Pyramid article about size in combat.

Normally I don't like the "I recommend buying..." answer, but here it seems appropriate.

The short answer which is probably ok to post here...

Re: Things players say to me

I dont think Im surprised by any of this.

I think the point for me is that there are more and more players that I dont want to GM for and probably despite them turning up they really dont want me...

Re: GURPS Dungeon Fantasy Monsters 4: Dragons

An alternate form for the Druid that is a dragon isn't a ridiculous thing.

I'd totally let a Druid buy that (a smallish one) for enough points

Re: Things players say to me

I don't think promoting GURPS to people who aren't really interested is something I like.

As it is:

I probably won't try to GM at that con again. The people were perfectly welcoming and...

Re: Things players say to me

And they were fine with that when I said something similar and perfectly polite. They just gave me the look of "you don't know what you are talking about... and your system isn't realistic"
Its...

Things players say to me

Me:

Where do you want to kick him

Player: It says here that skull is -7 to hit.
We do tai kwan do and its easier to hit the head than the body.

Me: yeah and I do Muay Thai and Im pretty...

Re: Armor modified for SM?

There are probably other ways to solve this.

One being DR, Damage reduction, Regeneration, etc with a pact limitation to not wear armour or perhaps only to wear certain types of armour. The GM...

Re: Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

No, and I imagine its irrelevant if I had.

I own the MH pdfs and I intend to run it one day.

I have no experience of what it feels like.in play. Watching a tv show wont answer that question.

Re: Armor modified for SM?

But mine don't and if they do they get it wrong. And I run a game for new players, driving them away with complexity (that really makes so little difference for the work it requires) is not what I...

Re: Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

I don't, nor have I ever, run a MH game so I have no point of comparison.

Re: Armor modified for SM?

Every single opponent's equipment, every time a PC wants to buy tools, every time a PC wants to change one piece of armour.

In a group of five plus players this happened often. It was not my...

Re: Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

I never wrote it was. I used "now" as in "now lets talk about this" not as in "now = today".

Certainly many fantasy stories like Elric, Conan and so on along with many action movies Die Hard,...

Re: Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

Could you not reply to me in that manner? I find it really unecessary for you to ask questions about what I read or don't read with that tone.

Thanks.

Regarding the question. I would point...

Re: Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

Maybe its also this.

A superhero comic and sometimes a TV series or movie have the whole ensemble cast where everyone works together.

Now action and fantasy have that too. 100% something like...

Re: Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

Well the reason I said DFRPG and not high powered fantasy is because I run DFRPG and not (insert system) fantasy.

As it is there are a lot of comparison between the cinematic versions of Hawkeye...

Does DFRPG more and more resemble a super hero game to you

Im pretty sure my players haven't noticed this as they still are concerned with loot and grinding levels.

But sometimes I look at DFRPG and it looks like a super hero game skinned with Dungeon...

Sacrificial dodge

Sacrificial dodge didn't make it into DFRPG.

Any thoughts on why? (Other than space)

Or if its absence is regrettable
