Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

I've been thinking about this over the last week or so, and after a chat with Rocket Man that helped me tease meaning out of the more GURPS-specific language, I think I can comment more sensibly than...

IN: Pulp

IN's setting and major NPCs would be a great fit, I think, for a pulp-themed RPG. It's a bit silly, but also incredibly awesome, to envision a situation like the following:

Has anyone done...

Re: My In Nomine wishlist

I might also offer "Encyclical" as an option for IN shorts. It's got a great (if admittedly Catholic) magisterial ring to it. "Folio" is also attractive.

I think Superiors books (all the ones who...

Re: Choir Names

This fills me with wild excitement.

I would be most interested in hitting up the Superiors that don't have their own books yet, and other Supplements, but that ex-GULIN IN3d6 idea is also pretty...

Re: 666 Habbalah Heresies

I think this semi-tautology is my favorite, but all of these are pretty good. A few more:

12. According to the Book of Revelation, only 144,000 human souls will be accepted by God at the End...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

The one thing I might add is a mention that eyeballing the situation might also net a bonus modifier, not just a penalty--there are situations between "automatic success" and "no penalty". And in IN,...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

I don't know the rule you mention, care to explain? I think I know what you mean (the standard "rather than add all possible circumstantial bonuses and then subtract all such penalties, the GM...

Re: thoughts on Seraphim

That's a good point, about Servitors of Revelation.

Here's another thought: it's clear that in IN there are a great many angels who never see (or almost never see) Corporeal duty. Obviously this...

Re: Seraphim and "what lies will work"

Well, make that one person, then. *grin*

Of course. Seraphim of Flowers might also do so, ironically (of course). Camouflage simply makes you blend in--much like a Vessel on the Corporeal...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

dataweaver, I like the first set that you have there--good numbers, and I don't mind "cutting off the top of the scale" as it were--with your average celestial still takes triple the damage of your...

In other news, yay! That's a great book. I treasure my hardcopy muchly.

Re: Seraphim and "what lies will work"

I am (I think unusually, though no offense is intended) going to side with Matthias Wasser on this front. The above isn't a lie, but it is a deception, and plenty of book references make it clear...

Re: Seraphim and "what lies will work"

The Seraph suggesting deception as a plan is probably suggesting it only as a last resort, and is not honorbound to keep the group from using the plan if someone else suggests it pre-last-resort...

Re: In Nomine Second Edition: What have we learned?

While I am not a huge fan of that from reasons of complexity, there's some that I like. I really like the inclusion of an attribute that measures power apart from resiliency on the Corporeal (and...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

Mostly I agree with dataweaver's points. Determining what's appropriate for a stage would be a target of the test--I'd be fine with 20/40 to start.

I myself don't like the nerfed Vessels,...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

Add this hand in. I might even be able to convince my normal gaming group to replace one of our usual sessions with a one-shot (none of them is more than mildly familiar with IN, but a previous...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

I like both the idea of a flat penalty and giving humans less of a penalty. It is elegant and quick, and I might just go ahead and use it for my IN.

That is reminiscent of nWoD (a small...

Re: GIN Ultra-Lite

Just a brief insert, because I'm not particularly GURPS-savvy and so this thread isn't entirely accessible to me:

The Skill Default penalties in IN are extremely irksome, essentially requiring an...

Re: Shedim of Malphas are just... wow...

A slight issue: the moment a news story hits the internet about "one person blacking out and acting completely different", angels show up and investigate. A Shedite might be gone in time, but it...

Re: In Nomine Second Edition: What have we learned?

Because it was an aside above and because I ran out of characters in that post (if there is a Discord that makes you fail at concision, I have it):

...there's an excellent fluff reason for why...

Re: In Nomine Second Edition: What have we learned?

It's necessary for every non-universalist game to make assumptions so that the game can actually be played. IN doesn't well handle a game where humans know about both angels and demons and fiery...

Re: In Nomine Second Edition: What have we learned?

Well pointed out, although I think it's pretty obvious that by "IN isn't meant to do" I meant mechanically, not thematically, since that's what all the recent discussion about human PCs problems has...

Re: In Nomine Second Edition: What have we learned?

This. IN is gripping because the powerful are beholden to the weak (even demons: by defining themselves opposed God's plan, they must win over human souls to prove that their rebellion is correct)....

Re: Ethereal adventures

This thread (http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?p=1180677#post1180677) has some excellent ideas (my favorite is the faerie bazaar that Jason created).

For me personally, the Marches can...

Re: Not In Nomine, But...

Intriguing. I'll nose on over to look at it.

As for IN-like media, I've found the Australian movie "Gabriel (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0857376/)" to be quite interesting...
