Re: Question about running away

If the player is up against a currently unbeatable Monster, wants to flee, and says so, they don't have to wait for other players to do anything related to the combat. The only time the player in...

Re: Curse or trap that forces loss of race or ability

If she was in combat, the bonuses go away, as those Items will only give a bonus to a specific Race, Class, or whatever. Since you can't change what Items are equipped during combat, you can't...

Re: Marvel Secret Invasion vs. Reality Gem

Hmmm. I'm trying to dig up the relevant cards, but Player 1 was hit with a Trap, not Player 2, so the first logical conclusion would be that Player 2's carried Items don't necessarily come into it. ...

Re: Major characters missing from Munchkin Marvel/Xemn + expansions

I'm probably not the only one to appreciate your enthusiasm, but I have to ask that you do not share your card ideas on this or any other SJG forum. To be perfectly clear, it's fine for you and...

Re: Hoarding Clerics

Brandy is correct. You draw all the Treasure cards first, then apply any immediate effects, like Hoard!, then distribute, whether you are resurrecting cards or not. Hoard! should be discarded once...

Re: Cleric resurrection/Discard Pile

Monster Enhancers stay on the Monster they are played on until the Monster is removed from the combat, whether through a card, a special ability, or by killing it. One-shot Items used in a combat...

Re: What happens to the Battering Ram after combat

It's not been our policy to provide rulings based on people's house rules, so you're going to have to decide on your own. I really don't have an opinion on what I'd do if I were to have a house rule...

Re: My sister won't play because she says there are too many rules

That's not a rule in Munchkin, but, again, there are many other games besides Munchkin that have the same issue.

Re: Monster enhancers after two headed

Two-Headed works exactly like Mate, but it doesn't create a second Monster. So, any Monster Enhancers played before and after Two-Headed get doubled.

Re: Looking for trouble with the Girl Wrestler on Fu

I can't think of one off the top of my head, but I'm trying to make it clear that a situation that requires an immediate and "permanent" decision would say as much.

Re: Looking for trouble with the Girl Wrestler on Fu

No, it does not negate the ability to make that choice, since the card does not offer a once and done decision. For an example of how this might happen: someone might play Girl Wrestler with the...

Re: My sister won't play because she says there are too many rules

I would like to point out that there are many games in which cards override general rules. There are also many games in which the cards only do what the rules say, but my experience is that the...

Re: How much stuff can a hireling carry?

The Loud Hairy Alien gives you four Hands, but it does not carry and use any Items for you. Since the other player had no Big Item in play, they were allowed to put a Big Item in play.

Re: Sword of Slaying everything except squid

No, there's definitely a Monster there. You'd have to Run Away, but Squidzilla wouldn't chase you, so you get away from Squidzilla without having to do anything.

Re: Munchkin Level Counter App not working on iOS 11.2.1

Having never had an iPhone, I'm left wondering: Does uninstalling and re-installing an app (or, at least clearing the cache, if not all the app data) fix problems like it will sometimes fix problems...

Re: Munchkin Cthulhu - Solar Eclipse card effect and participants in combat

I don't think we've ever treated that word differently, but only those fighting the Monsters are considered participants in the combat. Helping either side, adding Monsters, etc. does not make one a...

Re: Multiple monsters combat

It's worth pointing out that the card refers to the Level of an individual Monster, not the combat strength of the Monster side (combination of all the Levels of the Monsters, plus bonuses, minus...

Re: Clarification of Mate

Remove the Mate. There are very few instances, if not zero, where it would have a different impact. Personally, I can't think of any at this moment.

I think that ruling is in line with my most recent thoughts on the card, which may or may not have been written around here somewhere.

Re: Owl Bare and Wizard Hireling (Need for Steed)

Your Hireling does not interact with a Monster's special abilities unless the Hireling card or the Monster card say so. So, no, your Wizard Hireling doesn't have the ability to get you out of the...
