I think you're misunderstanding it. You replace the ST roll with a ST-based skill roll, which is 100% the same as adding the skill's relative level to ST.

Here are some suggestions that don't unfairly penalize the tank -- because the person who chose to be hard to hurt should be hard to hurt, while the people who chose to be squishy should have to deal...
