Re: Wealthy Elven Bards and the Bow of Infinite Money

I hate to dwell excessively on the past, but this post might help. (http://forums.sjgames.com/showpost.php?p=561715)

Re: Are Powers Overpriced?

Abilities are virtually impossible to balance properly even in highly constrained situations.

In computer games, where actions and powers are on extremely limited lists controlled entirely by the...

Staff Spears, Spear Staffs, and Associated Baggage

If you add a pointy metal bit to the end of a combat staff, it seems to me that you could still use it as a staff. The balance would be a little off, and cupping the pointy end in your palm is no...

Re: Roman Empire Zombie Survival

Roman legions should actually be pretty good against zed, at least if the zeds are traditionally sloppy and vulnerable to head shots. This isn't actually a problem since the PCs aren't legionaries.

Re: Luck

While this is not the only way to use GURPS luck, I think it is one of the most important ones. A lot of heroic fiction focuses on folks who were lucky in the sense of "(Some fraction) of the people...

Re: Making Animals more Dangerous

Yes. Grew up in Saskabush, and both of those are native. Never heard of anyone getting killed by one of those though.

Death by deer collision was pretty common though.

Re: Making Animals more Dangerous

I have been known to take the easy route and just give them metal heads (http://forums.sjgames.com/showthread.php?p=968044&highlight=metal#post968044).

Cost Factor for AP Melee Weapon

"Bodkin" style armor piercing melee weapons are a thing that would be useful in DF, especially for some of the fodderyer types of critters, but what's a good CF? It's not expensive for arrows, so I'm...

Re: Decreased Mana Costs as an advantage

It is wholly hypothetical, but yes, it's per skill level, so it levels off at 4 CP per -1 cost (plus other skill benefits).

40 per level for high levels of cost reduction might not seem like a...

Re: Decreased Mana Costs as an advantage

For many casters avoiding the "active spells" penalty of -1 per spell currently "on" is a big deal, as is range (for regular spells) and overcoming penalties to casting such as repeated healing...

Re: Decreased Mana Costs as an advantage

I've been leaning towards making the "skill based" energy discounts for spells depend on CPs spent rather than actual skill level (so with 2 CP in a spell, you get a 1 FP discount, at 4 CP you get a...

Re: Delvers to Go in the Dark

If adventurers are supposed to be using some form of non-torch lighting, then include that instead. If as a group decision they are supposed to grab some lighting options, than a sidebar or two might...

Re: Favorite Gnomco Products

Crit fails probably result in the user folding out an aggressive tentacle instead of the tool they wanted, wight?

Re: Favorite Gnomco Products

Not yet - the only things I'm sure of is that the head honcho at Gnomco is a gnome, and there are very plausible but unconfirmed rumors that she is a hell gnome instead of a regular PC style gnome.

Re: Delvers to Go in the Dark

My assumption from the name was they are "ready to go."

"Of course you have a few torches" is an easy GM call, but it's still annoying.

Delvers to Go in the Dark

It seems pretty easy to assemble a team of DFRPG pregens from the Delvers to Go and not get anyone with a torch or lantern. Many of the casters have relevant spells, but not every group picks up such...

Re: Favorite Gnomco Products

Personally I find Gnomco Self-Porting Ration Packs extremely useful for keeping my encumbrance penalty down, and tasty to boot. Cow! for those long quests is hard to beat, and Chicken! is great for...

Re: Favorite Gnomco Products

Let's not forget the patented Gnomco Sword-Sight! Sure it adds a little weight and makes the sword a bit unwieldy, but the ranged combat benefits are surely worth it!

Favorite Gnomco Products

Split off of Evil Runes thread, because there is a lot of potential here:

What are your favorite Gnomco products?

I like a big ol' bottle of Gnomco Rune Be Gone. Sure it's heavy and expensive,...

Re: Evil Runes: How to defeat?

What's wrong with a big ol' bottle of Gnomco Rune Be Gone? Sure it's heavy and expensive, but for convenient removal of Evil Runes (or unwanted skin) it's hard to beat!

Re: Social advantages in Dungeon Fantasy

Yes. If it has no in game effect stop there, and I have in fact used that quirk on (edit) the DFRPG board. However OP has said they WANT there to be in game consequences.

Exactly.

Here I...

Re: Sosial advantages in Dungeon Fantasy

The tricky bit for flagrantly delving princesses is explaining how they're allowed to publicly go into a dungeon with a bunch of scruffy murder-hobos at all. It's a huge risk for a politically...
