Re: Advice for using OSR stuff in Gurps?

I haven't done it myself, but I think GURPS and the OSR can work together, you have to be aware of the usually caveats when converting D&D adventures--the PCs being outnumbered matters much more, the...

Re: Yak-B 12.7mm gatling gun

*smacks forehead* Huh, I missed that in the AP ammo stats somehow. That would explain it, I guess it has a slightly shorter barrel and the AP ammo damage multiplier explains the rest. Mystery solved....

Re: Yak-B 12.7mm gatling gun

Right, but compared to the Dshk-38 and NSV from High Tech, it does 8d+2 versus their 7dx2.

Right, the slight shorter range would explain that, but it's still 99# and Bulk -9 versus much...

Yak-B 12.7mm gatling gun

In the Pyramid article "The Devil's Chariot", the Yak-B machine gun on the Hind is given damage of 8d+1, when the Dshk in High Tech has something like 12 dice of damage.

My googling has failed to...

Re: Optimized Shaolin Monk in a Western

Charles Bronson and IIRC, Toshiro Mifune teamed up in a western like that in the 70's, I believe.

Re: 1980s American Cars, Guns, Gadgets and Consumer Goods [Atmosphere, look, minutiae

Whose idea was it to carry an ASP? Yours or the players and where did he hear of it?

Re: GURPS resources for a Vietnam War adventure

Given this, (https://www.full30.com/video/26af935a06ba809abe6b449d61e89394), I'd be very surprised if it never happened. I've heard the Montagnards fought the VC with crossbows before the Green...

Re: [AtE] Custom Gatling Gun Specifications

Which is fine...but I don't quite see how giving them 20 HP isn't more appropriate?

Oh, well, if it's in the book, I guess you guys did the math and it makes sense.

Re: [AtE] Custom Gatling Gun Specifications

What in the world is your justification for giving Super Mutants Injury Tolerance: Unliving? They are neither zombies nor machines? Wouldn't they be better simulated with high HT, HP and some DR?

Re: GURPS in a movie? Ye GADS!

I assumed so. It's quite noticeable in Fallout 1. There's still SWING and THRUST options for knives, even though the damage is the same AFAIK.

Re: [AtE/HT] Barbed wire fencetops

The classic tactical use of barbed wire is to slow soldiers down and funnel them into kill zones for heavy machine guns or other emplaced weapons. Damage is secondary.

Re: 30 years ago?

I started in GURPS something like 2005 and had been playing (mostly GMing) D&D for about five years.

I eventually stopped running D&D for about seven years and am only running a homebrew...

Re: [AtE] Random Weapon Tables, Using bullets as Currency, and Gamism vs Simulationis

I think he means load more powder in the .38 case to make it a .357 level of power without lengthening the case to distinguish between the two rounds. Whether there's enough case capacity for that I...

Re: Wild West Game Experiences

Hatchets, short swords, knives and such will be important back up weapons. A couple double barrel shotguns might be useful too. The Allen pepperbox entry on High-Tech page 92 is the classic miner's...
